UNE COM was founded by a group of 新英格兰 physicians who wanted to ensure their patients would continue to receive the best possible health care. Now in our fifth decade of educating osteopathic physicians to care for the people of Maine, 新英格兰, 这个国家, UNE COM has proudly maintained this core mission while building an international reputation for innovation in medical education, teaching of anatomy and osteopathic manual medicine, and research in neuroscience and pain.
Our innovative medical curriculum incorporates expert faculty with small group, 团队, and 同伴教学 to integrate the biomedical and clinical sciences, and fuse the study of human anatomy with training in clinical skills, resulting in an educational program driven by competencies and entrustable professional activities. Working with our colleagues in UNE’s College of 口腔医学, College of 健康的职业, 及药学院, we have created opportunities for interprofessional education in simulation programs, 同伴教学, 学生诊所, and clerkship experiences providing healthcare to underserved populations. UNE COM partners with affiliate healthcare systems throughout 新英格兰 and the Middle Atlantic States to establish strong, supportive clinical education programs during the third and fourth year, 对于住院医师培训.
